Francesco Toraldo was born in Catanzaro on 9th November 1960.
Since very young, he spent time at his father’s studio -a painter as well-. In 1974 he entered the Art School in Catanzaro, which he attended for just one year. From then on, the only Maestro whom he has referred to is his father.
His first works are Indian inks, now part of private collections.
Although, for some time, circumstances took him away from painting, the relations with his father’s studio were alive and assiduous, enhancing his inner growth and allowing him to resume his artistic work with enthusiasm and liveliness, once he moved back to Sicily.

His first one-man exhibition took place in Catania in 1993, followed by the ones in Toscana and Rome in 1995 and once again in Catania in 1997. In 1996 he was committed with the realization of a work on wall for the church Maria Immacolata in Pedara (a small town near Catania) and in 1998 the Museum of Sacred Art of Rivisondoli assigned him the accomplishment of a work for the establishing Picture Gallery, for which works by Norberto, Terruso, Faccincani had already been set out. In 2000 he started his cooperation with the Calcagno Art Galleries in Catania. In 2002 Toraldo took part in the first International exhibition, Europ’art in Ginevre, to which, in 2002, his one-man exhibition in the Calcagno Art Galleries in Catania and the exhibition in Forlì followed.
