Artist Brief:
Work Brief: Simon Cunniffe currently lives and works in Kent, in the UK. Much of his work focuses on semi-abstract oil paintings of the landscapes he discovers. Man made structures, journeys, memories and objects fill his work juxtaposed against high impact, violently colourful, textured backgrounds. The recognisable subject matter is often in conflict with the background, playing with the rules of colour theory.
Simon Cunniffe graduated with a BA Joint Hons in Visual Arts and History of Art and Design, from De Montfort University, Leicester. He then graduated from Christ Church University, training in PGCE Seconday education. He is currently Head of Art, Design and Photography at King Ethelbert School, Birchington in Kent.
